Acceptance & Your Account
By accessing or using QuickLyft Ghana's platform — including quicklyft.app, our iOS and Android apps, and any associated services (together, the "Platform") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These Terms apply to all users: riders, drivers, and visitors. They form a binding contract between you and QuickLyft Ghana Ltd.
Electronic acceptance
You accept these Terms when you tick the acceptance box during signup, or when you first use the Platform after these Terms become effective.
Your account
- You must keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Sharing or transferring an account is not permitted.
- If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and notify hello@quicklyft.app immediately.
- You may close your account at any time from in-app settings or by emailing us. Closure does not erase records we are legally required to keep (see the Privacy Policy).
Service Description
QuickLyft is a scheduled commuter platform. We connect verified riders with verified drivers on pre-scheduled routes, at pre-scheduled times, at platform-set fares. We are not a taxi service, a ride-hailing service, or a carpooling platform.
Key distinction: Drivers schedule their own daily commute trip in advance. Riders book seats on those trips. No on-demand dispatch. No surge pricing. No detours.
QuickLyft Ghana Ltd. operates as a technology intermediary and does not employ drivers. Drivers are independent operators who use the Platform to offer seats on their personal commutes.
Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (21 for drivers — see Driver Agreement)
- Be a resident of Ghana or a visitor with a valid Ghanaian phone number
- Provide accurate registration information and a valid Ghana National Identification Card (Ghana Card) for verification
- Maintain only one account per person
- Not be barred from using the Platform under any previous suspension or termination
Drivers must additionally hold a valid Ghana driving licence, own a personal vehicle, and pass QuickLyft's vehicle inspection process. Full driver eligibility is set out in the Driver Agreement.
Rider Terms
One-time bookings
When you book a single seat, you are reserving a confirmed place on a specific driver's scheduled trip. Payment is collected at the time of booking and held in escrow until your trip is completed.
Subscriptions (recurring bookings)
You can subscribe to a driver's recurring schedule on the same corridor for a 2-week or monthly cycle. Each cycle reserves your seat automatically on your selected days.
- Pause or cancel any time from your bookings screen.
- Prorated refund for any unused, fully cancellable days remaining in the current cycle if you cancel mid-cycle (subject to the cancellation tiers in section 7 for any individual booked day).
- Driver opt-out: a driver may end a recurring schedule with 7 days' notice; you receive a prorated refund for the unused remainder.
- Same protections as a one-time booking apply to every individual day in the subscription.
Ghana Card verification
All riders must verify their identity with a valid Ghana Card before making their first booking.
Conduct
Riders must behave respectfully toward drivers and fellow passengers. Harassment, vandalism, or any conduct that endangers safety is grounds for immediate account suspension and may be reported to the Ghana Police Service.
Women-Only Mode
Riders who self-identify as women may opt in to Women-Only Mode, which restricts matching to women drivers who have opted in to provide that service. Misuse of Women-Only Mode by misrepresenting gender is a violation of these Terms and grounds for permanent suspension.
Driver Terms
Scheduling. Drivers post their own trips — route, departure time, number of available seats, and fare tier. Once riders book, trips are confirmed. Drivers are expected to operate the trip as posted.
No detours — ever. Drivers must follow the posted route exactly. Passengers walk to a designated stop on the driver's natural route. Drivers must not make detours, regardless of passenger requests.
Vehicle inspection. Vehicles must pass QuickLyft's 100-point physical inspection before the first trip and annually thereafter. The inspection score determines the driver's fare tier (Basic, Comfort, or Premium).
Commission. QuickLyft charges a platform fee of 12% per fare. Drivers receive 88% of every fare collected. There are no hidden deductions.
Founding Driver Offer. Drivers who register before June 1, 2026 are eligible for zero-commission status for the first 30 days of active operation. This offer applies once per driver and is non-transferable.
See the Driver Agreement for full terms specific to drivers, including independent contractor status, tax obligations and insurance.
Payments, Escrow & MoMo
All payments are processed via Mobile Money (MoMo). Supported providers in Ghana are MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, and AT Money. Fares are collected from the rider at the time of booking and held in escrow by QuickLyft until trip completion is confirmed.
Escrow release. On confirmed arrival at the destination stop, the driver's portion (88% of the fare, or 100% during their founding 30-day period) is released to their registered MoMo account on the same day — typically within minutes.
Auto-confirmation. If a rider does not actively confirm arrival, the trip is automatically marked complete 30 minutes after the scheduled arrival time and escrow is released.
Refunds. Detailed refund rules are set out in section 7. Refunds are processed to the original MoMo account, typically within 24 hours and no later than 48 hours.
Driver no-show credit. If a confirmed driver fails to appear, the rider receives a full fare refund plus a GH₵5 ride credit automatically applied to their next QuickLyft trip.
Cancellations & Refunds
Rider cancellation
| Notice given before scheduled departure | Refund |
|---|---|
| More than 2 hours | 100% — full refund |
| 1–2 hours | 50% refund |
| Less than 1 hour, or no-show | No refund — fare is forfeited to the driver |
Rescheduling is treated as a cancellation of the original booking and a new booking. No rescheduling fee if done more than 2 hours in advance.
Driver cancellation
If a driver cancels a confirmed trip (regardless of how much notice they give), the rider receives a full refund plus a GH₵5 ride credit. Repeated driver cancellations trigger a penalty strike on the driver's account; three strikes within 60 days may result in suspension.
Platform cancellation
If QuickLyft cancels a trip due to a safety or technical issue, all affected riders receive a full refund within 24 hours.
Refund mechanics
All refunds are returned to the original MoMo account, typically within 24 hours and no later than 48 hours. Ride credits are non-cashable, never expire while your account is active, and are applied automatically at the next eligible booking.
Safety, Conduct & Anti-discrimination
Both riders and drivers are verified before their first trip. QuickLyft operates a two-way rating system — drivers rate riders, and riders rate drivers — to maintain community standards.
Rating thresholds
- Below 3.5 average: account warning issued
- Below 3.0 average: account suspended pending review
All trips include live GPS tracking and a one-tap SOS feature. Emergency contacts can be shared via WhatsApp at the start of any trip.
Anti-discrimination
QuickLyft is open to all eligible users. Riders and drivers must not discriminate against any other user on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristic. Discrimination of any kind is grounds for permanent account suspension. Women-Only Mode is the only gender-restricted feature on the Platform and is provided for safety, not exclusion.
Safety violations
Users must not behave in any way that compromises their own safety or the safety of others on the Platform. Violations — including physical altercation, theft, or harassment — result in immediate and permanent account suspension and may be reported to the Ghana Police Service.
Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
QuickLyft grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose: booking and operating scheduled commute trips in Ghana.
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or any purpose that violates Ghanaian law.
- Operate the Platform as a commercial taxi, ride-hail or charter service.
- Attempt to scrape, crawl, mass-download or otherwise programmatically access the Platform without written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Platform.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features.
- Submit false identity, vehicle or payment information.
- Make automated bookings, fake demand, or fake supply.
- Use the Platform to harass, defame, or threaten any other user.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with QuickLyft.
QuickLyft may suspend or terminate access for any breach of this section, with or without notice depending on the severity.
User Content & Intellectual Property
Your content
You may submit content to the Platform — profile photos, ratings, reviews, in-app and WhatsApp messages, support tickets ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant QuickLyft a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display and use that content for the purpose of operating, improving and promoting the Platform. We may remove User Content that violates these Terms.
Our intellectual property
The QuickLyft name, logo, wordmark, taglines, app icons, and all associated brand assets are owned by QuickLyft Ghana Ltd. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute them without written permission.
Software, design, and content on the Platform are protected by copyright. Users may not copy or commercially exploit any part of the Platform.
Third-party Services & Tax
Third-party services
The Platform integrates third-party services including Mobile Money operators (MTN, Telecel, AT), Google Maps, Google Cloud / Firebase, and SMS / WhatsApp gateways. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. QuickLyft is not responsible for outages, errors, or charges originating from a third-party service.
Tax
Riders are responsible for any tax that applies to their personal use of the Platform. Drivers are responsible for declaring and paying any income tax, VAT or other tax due on QuickLyft earnings to the Ghana Revenue Authority. QuickLyft does not withhold tax from driver payouts but will provide annual earnings statements on request.
Limitation of Liability, Insurance & Indemnification
Important: QuickLyft operates as a technology intermediary connecting independent drivers and riders. QuickLyft Ghana Ltd. is not the operator of any vehicle and is not responsible for vehicle accidents, mechanical failures, or third-party personal injury claims.
Insurance
Drivers are required to maintain valid third-party motor insurance under the Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance) Act, 1958 (Act 42). QuickLyft does not provide commercial vehicle insurance, personal accident insurance, or any insurance product to riders or drivers, except where explicitly stated in writing.
Liability cap
To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, QuickLyft Ghana Ltd.'s total liability to any user for any claim arising out of or related to the Platform shall not exceed the value of the fare paid for the specific trip giving rise to the claim, or GH₵500, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Ghanaian law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless QuickLyft Ghana Ltd., its officers, employees and contractors against any claim, loss, or expense arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Platform, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.
Force Majeure & General Provisions
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform these Terms if performance is prevented by an event beyond reasonable control, including (without limitation) fuel shortages, network or power outages, government-mandated lockdowns, civil unrest, natural disasters, or pandemics. We will resume normal service as soon as the cause is removed.
Severability
If any clause of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses continue in full force.
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and (for drivers) the Driver Agreement, form the entire agreement between you and QuickLyft on this subject and supersede any prior agreement.
Assignment
QuickLyft may assign these Terms (for example, in connection with a corporate restructure or transfer of the business). You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.
No waiver
Our failure to enforce any right under these Terms does not waive that right.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
Step 1 — talk to us
If you have a dispute, please contact hello@quicklyft.app first. We aim to resolve most issues within 14 days.

Any dispute that remains unresolved shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Accra, Ghana.
Changes to These Terms
QuickLyft may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify registered users by SMS, email or in-app message at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
